Principal's Message

Welcome to MLHMS!

Our entire staff is excited to welcome you to Margaret L. Hopkin Middle School. Our excellent staff is committed to providing a safe and quality education for all our students.

As the principal, I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Kari Barnard, and I have been working at the middle school for the past eight years. Previously, I worked for BEACON, taught Creative Writing, and I taught 7th-grade English. The 2023 - 2024 school year will be my first year as a principal, and I am very excited! I can't wait to see our students - both new and old!

As we begin this new year, please continue to check our website and Facebook page for updates as we go throughout the year. We appreciate your support, and please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns!

Mission

Our mission is to develop life-long learners capable of achieving their greatest academic and social potential, and an awareness of their place and responsibility in school, and the larger global community. This will be accomplished through the cooperative efforts of staff, students, parents, and community, in an environment of security, success, pride, and respect for all members of our school community.

PowerSchool Data Breach Notification

Dear Parents and Guardians- Grand County School District has received notification from PowerSchool regarding data being comprised through a support contractor. Please review the link for detailed information:

Happy Thanksgiving

Grand County School District and Schools wish you and yours a safe Thanksgiving holiday and break. There is no school for the rest of this week, Wednesday, November 27th through Friday, November 29th. We look forward to returning on Monday, December 2nd!

Como dijimos anteriormente, sabemos que algunos de estos montos pueden generar un shock para algunas familias y queremos asegurarles que no esperamos el pago total de inmediato.
