Principal's Message

Welcome to MLHMS!

Our entire staff is excited to welcome you to Margaret L. Hopkin Middle School. Our excellent staff is committed to providing a safe and quality education for all our students.

As the principal, I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Kari Barnard, and I have been working at the middle school for the past eight years. Previously, I worked for BEACON, taught Creative Writing, and I taught 7th-grade English. The 2023 - 2024 school year will be my first year as a principal, and I am very excited! I can't wait to see our students - both new and old!

Mission

Our mission is to develop life-long learners capable of achieving their greatest academic and social potential, and an awareness of their place and responsibility in school, and the larger global community. This will be accomplished through the cooperative efforts of staff, students, parents, and community, in an environment of security, success, pride, and respect for all members of our school community.
