The halls are ready, the classrooms are set, and our incredible staff is thrilled to welcome you to Margaret L. Hopkin Middle School! Every member of our team is dedicated to fostering a safe, engaging, and rigorous environment where our students are empowered to excel.
As your principal, I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Kari Barnard, and I’ve proudly been part of the MLHMS family for over a decade. From my time with as a substitute and working for the BEACON After School Program to teaching Creative Writing and then 7th-grade English, my journey here has always been driven by one thing: helping our kids succeed. I am beyond excited to see both our familiar faces and welcome our newest students to the Thunderbird community!
