On March 6, GCMS hosted its 16th Annual Reality Town for 7th-grade students. Reality Town offers a chance for students to learn how to manage their personal money and what is needed to earn a living, for some, raise a family and experience some of the financial responsibility of being an adult. Each student was given a job and a life scenario for someone in the workforce at about age 30. They could be married, single with children, a single parent or any number of other life situations. Marva Lewis, the GCMS guidance counselor, puts in a lot of time and effort to ensure the success of this program and many community members volunteer to make this event successful. The students had a great time! Thank you, Mrs. Lewis and all of our volunteers!
They also participated in a contest for dressing the part.
