GCSD Crisis Management Matrix for COVID-19

March 12, 2020

Dear Parents and Staff,

Over the past week, Grand County School District leadership has been formulating plans and have developed a crisis management risk matrix for Coronavirus. The crisis management matrix with risk levels and protocols is available here, Crisis Matrix.

As you will see on the matrix, there are four levels of risk, all of which have specific procedures regarding campus access, education delivery, extra-curricular events, field trips, communication, among many others. At this time, GCSD is at level two (moderate risk).

We will continue to provide updates, and if risk levels increase, you will receive notice through parent link, our website and social media.

Essential Information

  • Canceled Events and Activities: Effective Immediately, all spring activities including sports, debate, large school events, etc. Cancelation of events as per the directive of the state and will be re-assessed in two weeks.
  • When to keep students home: Students and staff should remain home if he/she or any family/close contacts have signs of respiratory illness including: fever, cough, sore throat, runny/stuffy nose, body aches/headache, chills/fatigue.

In addition to our comprehensive plan, we have been emphasizing and teaching frequent handwashing, prevention efforts to limit the spread of germs and our custodial staff has increased disinfecting procedures.

Please be assured that student and staff safety is always our top priority. We will continue to share information from our local health department and the state as we receive it.
