The Student Health and Risk Prevention (SHARP) Survey is administered every two years, to students in grades 6, 8, 10, and 12 in Grand County School District, as well as most public and certain charter school districts across Utah. The survey is designed to assess adolescent substance use, anti-social behavior, and the risk and protective factors that predict these adolescent problem behaviors.
The survey results allow us to create programs/strategies and interventions around the survey outcomes. This data is also used for funding opportunities not only in the school district but also throughout community organizations.
Parent permission forms are being sent to parents and guardians. Notifications and reminders via ParentLink will be sent out every Friday through March 19. Parents and guardians are asked to check their email accounts for the link and visit the Parent page here on the GCSD website for consent forms and a copy of what the actual survey entails.
